New Exhibit on Hypochondria and Melancholy
A new exhibit has been posted on the 3rd floor of Hardin Library . The exhibit includes information about hypochondria and melancholoy and their relationship as seen through the centuries. Famous individuals suffering from the maladies are highlighted , and early cures are summarized. Check it out.

My NCBI Tool Replacing eRA Commons July 23
Beginning July 23, 2010, principal investigators will need to use the My NCBI My Bibliography tool to track publications and related NIH grants, rather than entering them manually through eRA Commons. My Bibliography is part of the My NCBI toolbox in PubMed. Current eRA Commons users can link their eRA Commons account to My Bibliography. Ed Holtum, curator of the John Martin Rare Book Room and a University of Iowa health sciences librarian since 1971 retired on June 30, 2010. We wish him the best. The John Martin Rare Book Room will remain open with a new curator–Donna Hirst.
New computers, Windows 7, bigger monitors in West Commons
The open lab area in Information Commons West, 2nd floor has new computers. Each computer has a 20-inch widescreen monitor and runs on Windows 7 OS. By the end of the summer, all the 2nd floor computers will be replaced with the same models by Information Technology Services.
