The Hardin Library for the Health Sciences has been making sustainability improvements for the past year.
Increased energy efficiency
- Replacement of all heating and cooling in the entire building
- All new windows
- Energy efficient lighting for all lights on 1st, 3rd, and 4th floors
- Almost all lighting is now activated by motion sensors
- Removal of one front door
Increased recycling
- Hardin Library has moved to single stream recycling
- We would like to exceed the University’s recycling target of 60 percent waste recycling
- All the new ceiling tiles in the library made of recycled materials
