New York Times: Print Makes a Come-Back

The Plot Twist, featured in the New York Times, describes a strong resurgence in print sales, fueled in part by sharper business practices by sellers, as well as a drop in e-books’ popularity.

New Laptops!

The Pomerantz Business Library has 12 new Dell Latitudes.

  • Software includes Microsoft Office 2013.
  • Laptops have Webcams for use with Skype (included).
  • Users can print with Web printing (http://printing.its.uiowa.edu).
  • University students and staff can use their ID’s to borrow a laptop for 4-hour loan (Library use only).

Collegeland: New York Times Magazine

From physical facilities to sexual assault, Collegeland, a New York Times Magazine special is also available in print at the Pomerantz Business Library.

New Business Library Acquisition: Passport (from Euromonitor)

Faculty, staff and students now have access to Passport. Passport is Euromonitor International’s global market analysis software platform and provides industry analysis in countries around the world. The database includes a market size and market share database for all products across key countries.

Passport can be accessed from the Business Library website’s Databases A-Z list: Please note that on campus and off campus users will be required to enter in a HawkID and password to access Passport.

Business Library Closed June 20th and August 1st

In addition to the University Holiday, Saturday, July 4th, the Pomerantz Business Library will be closed two additional Saturdays this summer: June 20th and August 1st.

China Data Online – Trial ends 17 June 2015

China Data Online includes China Statistical Databases, China Census Databases, and China Spatial Data Service (China Geo-Explorer). It provides easy access to the various statistical yearbooks published by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, comprehensive statistics, and Census data of economy and population at national, provincial, city, county, and even township levels.
