Through May 4th, 2012, the University Libraries has trial access to Scopus. This resource is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature with smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. It’s designed to find the information scientists need. Quick, easy and comprehensive, Scopus provides superior support of the literature research process.
NB: If you are accessing with IE9, compatibility mode is required. IE8 and Firefox work without problem.

Safari Books is now available on a trial basis from the University of Iowa Libraries (trial period ends May 4 2012):

Statista is now available through the University of Iowa Libraries. With statistics on over 60,000 subjects – from over 10,000 sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, International Monetary Fund, Worldbank, and more – Statista provides users easy-to-access, detailed data.

Receive the exact materials you need more quickly!
Together with 12 other university libraries in the Midwest and the Center for Research Libraries, the University of Iowa Libraries is proud to announce a new service called UBorrow that offers fast access to over 90 million books. Books requested via UBorrow typically are available within a week and are checked out for 12 weeks, with a four-week renewal option.
Iowa faculty, students and staff can search UBorrow directly. A UBorrow search option is also available in Smart Search and InfoLink. UBorrow checks the UI Libraries’ catalog for an available copy before checking other libraries’ catalogs in real time and placing a request directly with the other libraries. If a book is not available through UBorrow, faculty, staff and students can still place a traditional interlibrary loan request and UI Libraries staff will try to obtain it from another library.
Who is loaning the books in UBorrow?
The 13 CIC libraries as well as the Center for Research Libraries will be lending books through UBorrow. The CIC consists of University of Chicago, University of Illinois, Indiana University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State University, Purdue University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. The proximity of these partners, as well as commitments made by each library, allow books to be delivered through UBorrow far more rapidly than when they are requested via traditional interlibrary loan.

Although the University of Iowa Libraries do not distribute printed tax forms, the updated Tax LibGuide offers online forms, information on state and national taxes, links to tax organizations, and more.
Looking for a place to study at 2am during finals weeks? The UI Main Library is the place.
The Main Library will be open 24 hours during finals week; closing at 10 p.m. on Friday, December 16. A 24-hour study room is available at the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, but students must request an entrance card at the desk during regular hours.
IMPORTANT: The Pomerantz Business Library is open until midnight (please note that other notices stating that the business library is open 24-hours are incorrect); the Sciences Library on Iowa Avenue is open until 9 p.m. and the Lichtenberger Engineering Library is open until 8 p.m.
