Exhibit: Einstein and the General Theory of Relativity

Pic for blogOur new exhibit at the Sciences Library celebrates the life of Albert Einstein and the 100th anniversary of his general theory of relativity, presented for the first time in 1915.

The exhibit explains the general theory of relativity and it’s significance to modern physics. It also provides some interesting background information about his life and family.

Need expert research help? Hardin Library reference desk is staffed with , Librarians, and fully-trained permanent staff, and  Library and Information Science every hour the library is open.

Got a question you think is dumb?  We are always happy to help, and you can chat with us  anonymously if you wish.

Need to take a stress break?  Therapy dogs will be in Room 401 HLHS on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 2-4pm.  Coloring pages will be available on 3rd floor.  Puzzles will be available to work on.

How can I get there?  Take a Pentacrest Cambus to the VA Loop stop.  We are just up the hill.

 

 

 

 

 

Finals Week Hours & Free Coffee!


It is time for finals already and we have several services to help you through!

We have extended our hours:

  • Sunday, December 13th: 2 p.m. to midnight clock
  • Monday – Thursday, December 14th – 18th: 8:30 a.m. to midnight
  • Friday, December 18th: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, December 19th and 20th: Closed

We have free coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider! We’ll keep them hot for you! Please help save the environment and bring your own cup!

 

Don’t forget the lower level of the library is a dedicated quiet study space, and on the main level we have two group study pods with white boards and pod 1 has MediaScape®. (Please reserve study time in the pods by using the sign-up sheets).  We have print stations, 2 scanners, study carrels, and computers. And, don’t forget the computers in the multipurpose room!

crayonsIf you really need a bit of a break – we’ve got you covered there, too! We have coloring pages and crayons available and there will be Legos® on hand! Take a break and let your mind relax for a bit!
