Primary Sources in Counseling and Psychology, 1950 to Present – Trial ended Sept. 30, 2007.

Primary Sources in Counseling and Psychology is a searchable collection containing real transcripts of therapy and counseling sessions and first-person narratives illuminating the experience of mental illness and its treatment, as well as reference works to contextualize the primary material. New material is added on a biweekly basis and, when complete, the database will contain more than 2,000 session transcripts, 40,000 pages of first-person accounts, and 25,000 pages of secondary reference material. The database currently includes approximately 12,500 pages of material, including about 1,800 pages of reference material, 5,700 pages of personal accounts, and 4,900 pages of session transcripts.

Library Literature Retrospective: 1905-1983 – Trial ended March 31, 2007.

Library Lit Retrospective provides indexing of over 1,200 periodicals, with citations to more than 500,000 articles. It also includes: thousands of monograph and book review records extend coverage far beyond journals to the whole scope of library and information science literature; multilingual coverage, with translated titles and English language summaries, covers journals in French, Spanish, Russian, German, Hungarian, Danish, Norwegian, Italian, and other languages; truly international coverage comprehensively surveys library science publishing in Europe, Russia, China, India, Australia, and Latin America.

19th Century British Library Newspapers Digital Archive – Trial ended November 22, 2007.

The 19th Century British Library Newspapers collection contains full runs of 48 newspapers specially selected by the British Library to best represent nineteenth century Britain. This new collection includes national and regional newspapers, as well as those from both established country or university towns and the new industrial powerhouses of the manufacturing Midlands, as well as Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Special attention was paid to include newspapers that helped lead particular political or social movements such as Reform, Chartism, and Home Rule. The penny papers aimed at the working and clerical classes are also present in the collection.

  • ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials
    ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials combines the premier index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion with ATLA’s online collection of major religion and theology journals. The ATLA Religion Database includes more than 488,000 article citations from more than 1,500 journals (506 currently indexed), more than 215,000 essay citations from over 15,700 multi-author works, and more than 446,000 book review citations. This database begins in 1949 although indexing for some journal titles extends back into the nineteenth century. This database is produced by the American Theological Library Association.
  • Index to Jewish Periodicals
    Index to Jewish Periodicals is the definitive index on Jewish history, activity and thought. This database provides a comprehensive guide to English-language articles, book reviews, and feature stories in more than 160 journals devoted to Jewish affairs. Index to Jewish Periodicals is intended for students of Jewish thought and others interested in contemporary Jewish and Middle Eastern affairs. Journal coverage dates back as far as 1988.
  • Index Islamicus (currently subscribed to on a different platform)
    Index Islamicus, produced by Brill Academic Publishers, is an international bibliography of publications in European languages on all aspects of Islam and the Muslim world.
  • Old Testament Abstracts
    Old Testament Abstracts Online is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Catholic Biblical Association. The database features indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Old Testament studies. Topics covered include antiquities, archaeology, biblical theology, philology and much more.
  • New Testament Abstracts
    New Testament Abstracts Online is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. The database has become an indispensable research and bibliographic aid for scholars, librarians, clergy and students of the New Testament and its historical milieu. The database contains more than 38,000 article abstracts, 1,200 review abstracts, 13,500 book abstracts, and 50 software abstracts.
  • Catholic Periodical and Literature Index
    The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index Online is the product of a partnership between ATLA and the Catholic Library Association. The database covers all aspects of the Catholic faith and lifestyle, and includes over 380,000 index citations of articles and reviews published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith that are authored by Catholics and/or produced by Catholic publishers.

Oxford Language Dictionaries Online – Trial ended October 14, 2007.

Initially offering millions of words, phrases, and translations, in French, German, Spanish and Italian, the site will expand to include many other languages such as Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Polish. Included are usage examples and illustrative phrases, grammar guidance, click-through verb tables and pronunciation charts, explanations of grammatical terms, and help with spelling and punctuation.
