ATLA Historical Monographs Collections Series 1 & 2 – Trial ended April 14, 2011

American Theological Library Association (ATLA) Historical Monographs Collection Series 1 and Series 2 present more than 15,000 titles from 13th Century through the 1923. Series 1 includes many volumes in Aramaic, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew and other languages besides English, documenting the recovery of languages used during the biblical era and provides an in-depth view of the way that interest in, and knowledge of, biblical languages emerged during the nineteenth century, an important foundation for today’s study and understanding of biblical languages. Series 2 presents a comprehensive picture of religion in America at the turn of the century. Subjects addressed include the conflict between religion and science, the growing interest in Eastern religions and other world religions, and significant shifts in the religious identification of Americans.

Indo-European Etymological Dictionaries – Trial ended December 3, 2010

The Indo-European Etymological Dictionaries Online (IEDO) reconstructs the lexicon for the most important languages and language branches of Indo-European. It is a rich and voluminous online reference source for historical and general linguists. Dictionaries can be cross-searched, with an advance search for each individual dictionary enabling the user to perform more complex research queries. Each entry is accompanied by grammatical info, meaning(s), etymological commentary, reconstructions, cognates and often extensive bibliographical information. New content will be added on an annual basis.

Underground and Independent Comics – Trial ended January 8, 2011

Underground and Independent Comics, Comix, and Graphic Novels is the first ever scholarly, primary source database focusing on adult comic books and graphic novels. Beginning with the first underground comix from the 1960’s to the works of modern sequential artists, this collection will contain more than 75,000 pages of comics and graphic novels, along with 25,000 pages of interviews, criticism, and journal articles that document the continual growth and evolution of this artform.

Medieval Family Life – Trial ended November 19, 2010

Medieval Family Life (MFL) is a collection of manuscripts dating from approximately 1400 to the 20th century. The collection, created from source material from the British Library, Chetham’s Library, the National Archives, and the West Yorkshire Archives, consists of the Paston Family Papers, the Celys Family Papers, the Plumpton Correspondence, the Stonor Correspondence, and the Armburgh Family Papers (represented by the “Armburgh Roll,” a single parchment roll written on both sides in ink); these include the only surviving family letter collections from the medieval period in England.

IMF E-Library – Trial ended November 14, 2010

The IMF E-Library encompasses the vast amount of information published by The International Monetary Fund on its own activities and policies, as well as on its 186 member countries. Most of the Fund’s recent publications can be searched here and viewed in PDF format. The collection of books, periodicals, working papers, and country reports will continue to grow as both new material and older files are added.
