To celebrate this milestonetemp, we helped give some special treatment to the lucky five-millionth title, <a href=\"http:\/\/uipress.uiowa.edu\/books\/2008-fall\/hudsonbio.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Biographical Dictionary of Iowa<\/em><\/a>, edited by David Hudson, Marvin Bergman and Loren Horton and recently published by the University of Iowa Press to spotlight prominent Iowans throughout history. The impressive team of scholars and writers who contributed to the book includes The UI Libraries\u2019 own K\u00e4ren Mason, Curator of Iowa Women\u2019s Archives, and David McCartney, University Archivist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Calibri\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uipress.uiowa.edu\/books\/2008-fall\/hudsonbio.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-552 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/studio\/files\/2009\/07\/bdi1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We in Digital Library Services, along with our colleagues in the Applications &amp; Web Services department, created an <a href=\"http:\/\/digital.lib.uiowa.edu\/uipress\/bdi\/\" target=\"_blank\">online version of <em>The Biographical Dictionary of Iowa<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 It is now fully searchable and freely available to readers and researchers around the world, along with the fifty other titles in the <a href=\"http:\/\/digital.lib.uiowa.edu\/uipress\" target=\"_blank\">University of Iowa Press Digital Editions<\/a>.
