Well, they weren\u2019t just there to recline on the Iron Throne. They got attendees to sign up to volunteer as transcribers for the Hevelin Digitization Project, collected hundreds of emails, and spoke to passersby about the UI Special Collection\u2019s current ventures. \u201cWe were met with overwhelming praise and support for our efforts,\u201d Balestrieri said. Special Collections may even be receiving new donations from some prominent fans and figures in science fiction and fandom in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/speccoll\/files\/2016\/09\/Flying-Saucer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4759\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/speccoll\/files\/2016\/09\/Flying-Saucer-765x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Hevelin Flying Saucer Stress toy that was given away at World Con\" width=\"400\" height=\"536\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/speccoll\/files\/2016\/09\/Flying-Saucer-765x1024.jpg 765w, https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/speccoll\/files\/2016\/09\/Flying-Saucer-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/speccoll\/files\/2016\/09\/Flying-Saucer.jpg 896w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, their time at the World Con wasn\u2019t all work and no play. Hampton was able to attend the exclusive George R.R. Martin Alfie Awards celebration.
