{"id":2670,"date":"2022-09-16T16:35:40","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T16:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/science\/?p=2670"},"modified":"2022-11-08T18:23:38","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T18:23:38","slug":"scifinder-classic-is-retiring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/science\/2022\/09\/16\/scifinder-classic-is-retiring\/","title":{"rendered":"SciFinder Classic is Retiring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>If you are currently using the classic version of SciFinder, it is time to start using SciFinder-n.<\/strong> Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) will discontinue the \u201cclassic\u201d SciFinder interface on Dec. 31, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/guides.lib.uiowa.edu\/SciFinder\"><strong>SciFinder-n<\/strong><\/a>, will be the only SciFinder platform moving forward.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are already using SciFinder-n, you do not need to do anything.<\/li>\n<li>Your SciFinder credentials will work with SciFinder-n. You do not need to register for a new account.<\/li>\n<li>Any bookmarks will automatically redirect to SciFinder-n.<\/li>\n<li>If you have saved answer sets and search alerts for the classic version of SciFinder, you will need to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scifinder-n.cas.org\/help\/index.html#t=Working_with_Search_Results%2FSaved_Page%2FSaved_Page_-_Migrate_SFW_Answers_and_Alerts.htm\">migrate them into<\/a> SciFinder-n before Dec. 31, 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To access SciFinder-n, go to the Sciences Library <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.lib.uiowa.edu\/SciFinder\">SciFinder guide<\/a>.
