The UI Libraries,<span class=\"xxapple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>in collaboration with the Big Ten Academic Alliance, is a founding member of HathiTrust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that any books available through HathiTrust that are also in the UI Libraries\u2019 collections will be available online without the additional step of requesting a digital scan. HathiTrust\u2019s online collection contains<span class=\"xxapple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>nearly half of the UI Libraries\u2019 book collection for <strong>an additional 1.6 million volumes now available online<\/strong> for our campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To take advantage of this resource:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li>Visit <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hathitrust.org\/\">HathiTrust<\/a><\/b>&nbsp;and click the yellow \u201cLOG IN\u201d button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cUniversity of Iowa\u201d and log with your HawkID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the site to locate the item you wish to view.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the<span class=\"xxapple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><b>Temporary Access<\/b><span class=\"xxapple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>link at the bottom of the record to check out the item through the Emergency Temporary Access Service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will have 60 minutes of access to the book during any session. If you remain active in the book during any session, access time will be extended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please note that it is not possible to download books from HathiTrust.
