However, finding JCR online can be tricky, especially because JCR and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webofscience.com\/wos\/woscc\/basic-search\">Web of Science<\/a> (WoS) are owned by Clarivate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Navigating to JCR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To locate the link:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lib.uiowa.edu\/hardin\/\">Hardin Library for the Health Sciences\u2019 homepage<\/a> and find the Selected Resources section.\n<ul>\n<li>Click on <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.lib.uiowa.edu\/az.php?s=119595\">Health Sciences Resources<\/a> and then the J page in the A-Z list. That\u2019s where you\u2019ll find <a href=\"https:\/\/purl.lib.uiowa.edu\/jcr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Journal Citation Reports or JCR Web<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JCR can also be accessed from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webofscience.com\/wos\/woscc\/basic-search\">WoS<\/a> by clicking on Products in the top right of the homepage and then choosing JCR from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are Journal Impact Factors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Impact factors are a quantitative measure of the frequency with which the &#8220;average article&#8221; published in a given scholarly journal has been cited in a particular year or period; this is used in citation analysis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Impact Factor for Journal X =<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citations in 2013 to articles published in X in 2011 and 2012<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>___________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Articles published in X in 2011 and 2012<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Not all journals have impact factors, and impact factors are not the only indicator of quality<\/strong>.
