My Dear Husband<\/p>\n

I was much disappointed last night when I got no letter I rec’d but one from you last week always before I have had two or three I hope nothing has occurred of importance to hinder your writing to me as I suppose the only thing likely to seem to prevent it would be “Marching Orders” Oh how I long to read from you “You may come” I wonder when we shall know. Mother is keeping baby while I write she says he is telling me a story, hear him laugh, &c. so I suppose my letter will be rather disconnected<\/p>\n

Baby is well and weighed him yesterday he weighs 15 1\/4 lb. He crowed to day for the first time Mary is coming down to stay all next week. Mother is going to wean her Jonnie & Sammy have gone to Chicago Sammy is going to have his palate cut you know he talks through his nose I dont mean his palate but his tonsils they are too large I had a letter from Thomas friday he dont know that he will come home this winter at all. Next Thursday is thanksgiving I wonder where you will be Mrs. Ladd has sociable I dont know that I shall go The Presbyterian S.S. are to have a Christmas. then Mr. Strevell invited Mr. Fisher to join his school with the Pres. but he did not mention it this morning so I suppose it did not meet his appoval I am sorry If I was sure I would be here I should insist on it but I hope so that I may go to Bowling Green that I dont like to say much about it as it would come very heavy on a few Maggie goes to Joliet tomorrow to trade she will get me some things which I need Mr. [Lewis?] goes to Bowling Green next week I will send your shovel & a long letter for fear I cant go the baby sends a kiss Goodbye for the present God bless & keep you [?]<\/p>\n

I had a letter from Lou yesterday she enclosed one for Allen as he does not get her letters regularly & had a long letter from Jennie last week her babies are not well & she fears they are not long for this world the rest are all well Wesley has not gone yet & Hanna is at home<\/p>\n
