It will be held in the Illinois room (348) in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. <strong>Capitalizing\u00a0on\u00a0Research\u00a0Data: Management,\u00a0Dissemination, and Archiving\u00a0<\/strong>is a public seminar and will be presented by Dr. Heidi Imker.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2804\" style=\"width: 189px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/eng\/files\/2015\/10\/Imker_sq.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2804\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/eng\/files\/2015\/10\/Imker_sq.jpg\" alt=\"Heidi Imker, Data Management Guest Presenter\" width=\"179\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Heidi Imker, Data Management Guest Presenter<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The seminar\u00a0will explain how researchers can meet new funding\u00a0requirements for research data management and also how to leverage public access requirements to increase the visibility and impact of their research.\u00a0A time for discussion will follow the\u00a0presentation\u00a0and there will be refreshments during an informal meet and greet.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Imker is the Director of the Research Data Service (RDS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The RDS is a campus-wide service headquartered in the University Library that provides the Illinois research community with the expertise, tools, and infrastructure necessary to manage and steward research data. \u00a0Prior to her position as Director of RDS, she was the Executive Director of the Enzyme Function Initiative, a large-scale collaborative center involving more universities. It is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and located in the Institute for Genomic Biology. She holds a Ph.D in biochemistry from the University of Illinois, and did her postdoctoral research at the Harvard Medical School.<\/p>\n<p>Registrations are requested and are still being accepted.
