[Freiburg?: Johannes Schottus, 1504].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reisch was a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carthusians\">Carthusian<\/a> prior at Freiburg and confessor to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maximilian_I,_Holy_Roman_Emperor\" >Emperor Maximilian I<\/a>, as well as assistant to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desiderius_Erasmus\" >Erasmus<\/a>. \u00a0<em>Margarita philosophica<\/em>, might be called the first modern encyclopedia.
