{"id":457,"date":"2008-07-09T10:05:39","date_gmt":"2008-07-09T16:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/news\/2008\/07\/09\/volunteers-needed-at-main-library\/"},"modified":"2008-07-09T10:05:39","modified_gmt":"2008-07-09T16:05:39","slug":"volunteers-needed-at-main-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.lib.uiowa.edu\/news\/2008\/07\/09\/volunteers-needed-at-main-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers at Main Library &#8211; UPDATED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Moving Special Collections materials to the lower-level storage area has progressed very quickly, and we expect to have the third floor hallway cleared today.<\/p>\n<p>However a few volunteers are needed Thursday afternoon and Friday. <strong>Please call the Main Library Information Desk at 319-335-5299 to sign-up for a shift on Thursday or Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>NO volunteers are needed over the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While we resume business as usual in the Main Library, library staff is also trying to return evacuated materials to their appropriate places in the lower-level storage space. Returning the materials will be a much slower process than taking them out to make sure that items are retreivable.<\/p>\n<p>We could use a few volunteers to help with this effort over the next week. Only 30-40 people are needed at a time. We will be moving materials only during the Main Library&#8217;s modified summer schedule: <\/p>\n<ul>\nWednesday, July 9 until 9 p.m.<br \/>\nThursday, July 10 &#8211; 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.<br \/>\nFriday, July 11 &#8211; 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.<br \/>\n<del datetime=\"2008-07-10T17:36:44+00:00\">Saturday, July 12 &#8211; 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.<br \/>\nSunday, July 13 &#8211; 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.<\/del><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moving Special Collections materials to the lower-level storage area has progressed very quickly, and we expect to have the third floor hallway cleared today.
