I was so, so blessed to have Grandma Owen as a Grandmother. As Diane Pett (my sister) explained in her letter. Grandma was always a "breath of fresh" air and she gave us so many good memories. Her musical talent was wonderful and it carried through to our Whitehead famiy. I could write and write forever about so many good memories of her ! As her grandchildren..we were never aware of all of the hardships that she went through. She was grateful for everyone and everything and every moment she shared with family and friends. A wonderful woman that will not be forgotten

Viola became my (step)Grandma in 1951 when my dad married her daughter, Betty. I was the oldest (4 1/2 years old) of three girls whose mother died of polio in 1950. Grandma never treated us differently than any of her biological grandchildren. We all have so many wonderful memories of this very special woman! Laughter and love followed her wherever she went. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives!

I attended camp Conestoga in roughly 1988. They appear to still be there! http://www.gseiwi.org/program/cc.asp
This is from memory and it's not quite the same when it isn't sung, but, here goes:

Conestoga we take off our hats to you.
To [name] and [name] and all the counselors too.
We always have such fun
When the week is over seems it's hardly begun.
Oh we hike and we swim and we EAT A LOT
and we never compain for what we haven't got.
Surely pass the test
For the camp we love the best
You'll always be our girl scout camp
Our camp Conestoga.
