Tornado drill at library on Wednesday morning

The Hardin Library will be part of an all-Iowa tornado drill on Wednesday, April 6 at 10am.

At 10:15 the automated warning system in the building should go off.  This is a drill.  If you are in the library when you hear the weather alert, please take your belongings and walk down the stairs to the 1st floor shelter area.

The outdoor alert system will also be activated, but it is difficult to hear those alerts within the library.  The drill is expected to last 15 minutes.

The overall purpose of the drill is to remind persons across the state to review severe weather procedures for work, home, and play.  For work, you can review the University’s Critical Incident Management Plan’s (CIMP) Tornado section at: http://police.uiowa.edu/assets/Uploads/cimp.pdf.  For home and play, you can visit the severe weather preparedness web page at the National Weather Service’s Davenport Office:  http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dvn/?n=swaw
