Link to Full-Text from Ovid-Online and PubMed

In many indexes and databases, you will now see an InfoLink or SFX button that allows you to link from an article citation to related content and services available through the library. When you find a record in a database or periodical index, click on the InfoLink button to:

  • see if the full-text of the article is available online for immediate access;
  • check InfoHawk to see if the journal or book is in the library; or
  • get e-mail assistance from a librarian

Ovid-Online
In Ovid-Online click on "Remote Link" next to each citation to open an InfoLink window. (Unfortunately, Ovid does not yet display our InfoLink button; we are working with them to add this feature.) Click here for an Ovid-Online example

PubMed
To utilize InfoLink in PubMed you must begin your search from this special URL:
http://purl.lib.uiowa.edu/nlm/pubmed
Click on your PubMed citation (or select "abstract" or "citation" display) and then click on the InfoLink button. Click here for a PubMed example

InfoLink is available in many other databases including Web of Science, EBSCOhost, and Health Reference Center.
